The Elias Award

The Elias Award is presented annually at the Walter Gretzky Street Hockey Tournament to recognize the “Rookie of the Year“, celebrating the player who makes the biggest impact in their debut tournament. Whether through exceptional performance, standout moments, or an undeniable presence on the court, this award acknowledges the freshest talent to hit the VASHL stage.

Named after Elias Grover from Clerks II, the award is a nod to his earnest, wide-eyed enthusiasm, perfectly reflecting the energy and excitement of VASHL’s rising stars
